Welcome Message And Introduction

Hello, I am known as K-8 (aka "conscious_object"). Here I keep a fetish blog with a (skewed) sense of humor. Contained herein you will find my various random thoughts on my unique fetishes, and interesting finds culled from all over the intarweb, including art by my friends, and sometimes my own art.

Dollhouse Season Two

  • Oct. 11th, 2009 at 1:37 AM
For those who haven't been keeping up with season two of Dollhouse, I should tell you last night's episode involved a subplot where women were kidnapped and turned into forced living mannequins. Naturally, it was played up for extra creepiness in such a way that it didn't really light up the fetish fuel portion of my brain like it might've if, say, it didn't take place in some dark dungeon, and if Spoiler ).

But then, if I were playing with some of these concepts in a mainstream story, I'd probably ramp up the creepiness as well just so no one would suspect I might, say, have a fetish that could involve seeing actresses on set standing very still, looking like mannequins, and pretending they're stuck like that. Ya know.

A few lines this episode that amused me:

"He'll be an empty-headed robot walking around Hollywood. He'll be fine."

"We have names, remember that. We're human, we're not his toys."

Doesn't that last line sound like something right out of a story on LTBSA or something?

Anyways, on a totally not at all related note, it appears from the preview shown after the credits that next week we'll be getting a flashback story detailing the whole story of the evil mind control enthusiast who had Sierra turned into a doll. Have we surprised Totally Spies yet, or no?

I was recently pointed to a series called Brigadoon: Marin To Melan (or sometimes Brigadoon: Marin And Melan), where in episode 18 one of the characters discovers her amulet allows her to transform into a humanoid version of anything in her line of sight at the time. The first time, it happens entirely by accident, and she turns into a sort of combination motorbike truck girl.

I'm not sure what other cool things of interest to this blog she might've turned into during the series, but I'm going to look into it.

Charmed - "Size Matters"

  • Jul. 14th, 2009 at 9:53 AM
Some evil character is going around shrinking girls, covering them in a layer of clay, and putting them in a kiln to turn them into clay figurines. I'm not so much into shrinking, or the whole about to die horribly in an oven thing, but seeing the character stuck in hardening clay while waiting to be put in the kiln is pretty amusing. Fast forward to 1:10 for the start of the final act.

Can you guess my favorite line of the clip? ;-)

Showbots

Check out this crazy new robot called iCan:

It's actually a person in a suit, standing on a modified Segue. I have no idea how exactly the animated jaw is worked, but it appears to be controlled by the person inside, and looks amazing.

But what I like most about the suit is: guy people think is a robot? With a visor? And a TV in his chest? On wheels? It's ROBODUCK!

The bottom half already looks so close to a dress, I'm just waiting for them to create a female version (please? Pretty please?).

iCan is a Showbot, produced by the same people responsible for Droidz. You might remember the Droidz from the '80s music video "I'm Lonely" by Hollis P. Monroe. Turns out they're still around, with slight modifications made to the suits over the years it seems. It's really hard to find many pictures out there, though, especially of what they apparently look now.

And here's what they look like now:

For some reason they still have the decorative keypad on the front, a relic from '80s when touch tone was still considered new and hi-tech.

Did I Fall Asleep?

Someone asked if I'd post my thoughts on Joss Whedon's Dollhouse, but I'm not really sure what there is to say about it here. Other than to recommend it, on the basis of it being just plain good sci-fi. (Well, except for the first three episodes. Those ones weren't so good.)

Yeah, the show has mind control. And yeah, the mind controlled individuals are referred to as "dolls," and rented out to the wealthy. A concept that I'm sure sounds pretty hot to a number of you. Personally, it hasn't been setting off any of my kink sensors, beyond just being highly amused by how many shared fetishes it seems Whedon also picked up from reading Claremont X-Men stories as a kid (his Dr. Horrible includes a freeze-ray, and in the Buffy Season 8 comics Dawn has been cursed to transform into different things, including a doll).

But then I always get bored with mind control stories once the character's main personality no longer seems aware. And that's okay, because that's not the main reason for my following the series in anyways.

Although, in the most recent episode there was a scene that had me thinking back to my idea about a bondage-rigger bot... ;-)

But I'm actually kind of curious, whether any of you have found the show stimulating in a kinky way? Are any of you tuning in because it's like an ongoing MC story? Let me know.

By the way, if any of you have not seen the show but are thinking of giving it a try, via Hulu or wherever, do yourself a favor and skip right to episode four. You really won't be missing much (other than a lot of early show awkwardness). The only three plot points that I think might be helpful to know are:

1) A previous doll called "Alpha" went berzerk, killing much of the staff of the Dollhouse, including Echo's previous handler. One lab tech was spared, but her face left badly scarred. We have not yet been shown Alpha's face.

2) Certain phrases provoke certain reations from the dolls depending on who is saying it. For example, if their handler asks if they'd like to have their treatment, the doll wants to head back to the Dollhouse for debriefing/deprogramming.

3) A detective is trying to investigate the elusive Dollhouse, and track down the missing girl who is now Echo. His neighbor across the hall appears to have a crush on him.

And that's it, enjoy the show!

Powering Up

Wasn't as long a break as I thought it'd be, but I'm feeling a little better now. I apologize for dragging my drama into the blog...I've generally tried to keep things here light and playful. I've taken down the previous two entries because I think they're embarrassing.

I've got some interesting finds sent to me that'll I'll be posting when I have a chance, but you probably won't see words like "erotic" or "hot" showing up to describe anything...I just don't seem to find anything erotic anymore, and haven't for a long while. Who knows what the deal is there. Instead, I'll be posting things that I find particularly amusing, or well done, or just plain funny.

So for example, here's a clip from last Saturday's episode of SNL. Weekend Update talks with Barbie about her 50th birthday.

Last Night On Heroes

Did you watch Heroes last night? If so, you probably know just the scene I'm talking about. ;-)

Basically, they introduced a new villain whose introductory scene is like a stock scenario from MCStories. I was laughing in disbelief while the scene was playing, lol.

If you didn't catch it, you can watch the full episode here. The scene in question begins around 37:00.

Reboot Weekend (2 Of 2): Sunday

Here's another Reboot clipshow, this one featuring some out-of-game madness, which always seems to be in some way related to that loveable villain Hexadecimal. I wonder if she inspired the masks of [info]sebastian_cat?

Reboot Weekend (1 Of 2): Saturday

  • Jul. 26th, 2008 at 1:45 PM
Reboot was a saturday morning cartoon series, possibly the first fully computer-animated one. It was about a city of "sprites" living inside of a computer, who occasionally have to go play against the "User" when a game is loaded.

Once in-game, the characters would "reboot," giving them a new appearance more in line with the game. Sometimes this simply gave them useful equipment, but the fun part was when it completely transformed them in some fun/amusing way. Here's a clip-show of my favorites:

"Ow, I'm never going to smile again..." Poor Barbie doll. ;-)

That last segment, where everything is widescreen, was completely new to me until I'd started browsing through episodes again recently. I only ever saw the first two seasons when they aired, and lost track of it when it was dropped from network television.

The episode the first segment came from I think may've inspired my interest in shark-girl style mermaids. I remember fantasizing variations on that form when I was younger, but forgot until now where I likely got the idea from.

Talking Head Illusion

  • Jun. 29th, 2008 at 10:47 PM
Guess what I finally got ahold of? That clip from Mr. Wizard's World I'd been wanting to track down.

So funny to see this again now as an adult. Am I the only one that almost started laughing when she says "this feels neat"? I wonder if she ended up developing similar interest when she grew up...? ;-)

And speaking of television moments that involved headlessness and scarred me for life, I just recently discovered a music video that -- like Talking Heads' "Love For Sale" -- I saw at such a young age, and sounded so bizarre when I'd try to put it into words, that I'd questioned if it was all my imagination. But no, the video for "Doing It All For My Baby" by Huey Lewis, it turns out, was all too real.

The video starts with Huey Lewis and the crew on their way to or from another, when one of their tires goes flat. For some reason, getting the spare off involves getting under the van while it's propped up, and Huey does the honors. Only jack falls out, and the van falls on top of him, crushing him to death! The rest of the band are shocked, and try to get him out...but confirm that he's dead. They killed Huey Lewis! And I'm only, like, four when I'm watching this. ;-P

The rest of the band is shocked for a moment, then are like "eh, screw 'em" and go to find any nearby place they can find. What they end up finding is some sort of creepy mansion, and...well, to make a long story short, Huey's is revived by a mad scientist who turns him into a Frankenstein-ian creation, after the rest of the band have already ended up as heads in jars...

Here it is, in case you don't believe me:

But rather than "scarring me for life" in a fun way like the Mr. Wizard clip, this one just left me forever paranoid that the jack might fall out and injure someone anytime I see someone changing a tire... ;-P

(And that concludes today's therapy season, thanks for coming. ;-P)

See the rest of the magic show.

So how many do you think you can you name?

I only recognize about half of them, honestly. But I can think of at least one reader who likely knows them all, so get your guesses in before he stops by and mops the floor... ;-)

But I do have to ask: what, no Katie Holmes...? ;-)

Bug Queen

A couple videos that didn't make it into last week's theme series.

An episode of Extreme Ghostbusters where Janine is transformed by some crazy bug person into his "Bug Queen":

And yet another episode of Totally Spies, with their version of the same theme (Alex transformed by some crazy bug person into his far-less-grotesque "Bug Queen"):

Totally Spies Week: Friday Extra - Faceless

  • Mar. 28th, 2008 at 4:29 PM
Over in Martin Mystery, the crew are sent to check on a woman (with long brown curly hair...hmm...) whose face has been "erased." Later, outside the woman's apartment, they witness it happen to someone else. Will they be able to figure out what's happening here? Or perhaps a better question: will Diana be able to make it through the whole episode without getting transformed...?

mysteryface

The one thing that bugs me in the episode is that everyone who has their face stolen reacts so calmly to it. I mean, if you were suddenly unable to see or speak, and weren't sure why, isn't the first thing you'd is feel your face? Then, when you realize it's completely blank, wouldn't you be a little panicked? Granted, you can hear a few people's voices who sound like they might be able to help, but wouldn't you be waving your arms a bit, trying to speak to them, get answers, etc.? Instead, the two people we witness having theirs' stolen just lay there, not doing anything at all, like they're just props. Just seems weirdly written/"acted" to me.

Totally Spies Week: Friday - Totally...Mimes?

  • Mar. 28th, 2008 at 11:33 AM
Yes, mimes!

totallymimes
"...!"

Probably the strangest, most bizarre episode of Totally Spies. "No, you can't have gravel-flavored ice cream!" A failed mime called Jazz Hands has been transforming celebrities into unwilling mimes via his special accordion. While chasing him down, Sam and Alex get hit by the ray. Now they're stuck in ridiculous, humiliating makeup that can't be washed off or covered up, and are unable to speak...

Here's one to put a smile on your face...

totallysmile
"Sam, why are you still smiling?"
"I can't stop. My face is frozen this way!"

A woman is making-over aspiring models with a treatment that makes their face only capable of showing a single expression. Sam gets stuck with a permanent smile, while Alex is stuck pouting. Clover this time manages to get by scott-free.

Later, during the final battle with the evil woman, she starts shooting at them with a giant bottle of "super hold" hair mousse, which essentially freezes in place anyone hit by it, unable to do anything but watch. Stuck-tastic!

Kim Cattrall: Robospy

  • Mar. 27th, 2008 at 1:26 PM
Thanks to encasementvictim for alerting me to this one.

Turns out Mann & Machine wasn't the only proposed TV show in the early 90's about a crime-fighting robot-woman. Running Delilah (known as Robospy in Australia...a better title, I think, though maybe too close to "Robocop"?) starred Mannequin's Kim Cattrall as a secret agent who is nearly killed, and has most of her body replaced with robot parts underneath a human-looking skin. Perhaps Cattrall could've been known for *two* ASFR roles, if the series had made it beyond the pilot episode.

Here's the scene where Delilah, only partly reconstructed at this point, realizes that something's not quite right (with Billy Zane as her partner):
